OUR ALLOY REFURBISHMENT PROCESS
Preparation
-
Wheels are taken off the vehicle and tyres removed from the wheel using a specialist machine.
-
Wheels are acid dipped to remove any previous paint and lacquers.
-
Wheels are lightly blasted to remove any corrosion and kerb damage, to provide a good base for paint adhesion.
-
Wheels are inspected and prepared. If there is any major damage requiring welding or straightening an additional charge would apply, which would be discussed prior to any repair being carried out.
Paint Application
-
Wheels are placed in our oven, heated to 245°C and a powder primer coat, powder top coat and lacquer finish are applied, with heating and cooling between coats.
Quality Check
-
Wheels are then subject to a quality check on the paint finish.
Refitting
-
Tyres are then refitted to the wheels and balanced before fitting back on to the vehicle, and the weights are placed on the inside of the rim so as not to spoil the appearance of the wheel. New valves or the existing sensor valves along with any centre caps are also fitted at this stage.
DIAMOND CUT & REPAIRS
Diamond Cut
Our diamond cutting process involves the latest CNC technology that offers the finest finish for your alloy wheels. The precision cut, using our CNC lathe, is applied to the rims after powder coating, and removes a fine layer of the outer surface of the wheel to expose the bare metal beneath. A clear lacquer is then applied to the whole wheel to seal and finish the surface.
Note: Diamond cutting can not be applied to all styles of wheels. Please ask for details.
Repairs
We repair any minor wheel and kerb damage free of charge.
Any damage requiring welding or straightening would be subject to an additional charge of £40* (we would call to advise of this prior to work being carried out).
* The additional charge is per weld or straighten per damaged wheel.
